Meet our Heart of the Rockies Radio News pet of the week, Louie! Louie is an incredibly handsome and loving 5-year-old male American Pit Bull Terrier mix. He had a rough start to life, but is still sooo trusting of humans and truly has a resilient spirit. Louie enjoys spending his days behind the front desk, he makes a great office dog! Meet our Heart of the Rockies Radio News pet of the week, Linus! Linus is an outgoing cat who loves to greet new people when they enter his room. Linus is pictured here the first time I met him- he was curious about his new visitor and a purr-machine! He greeted me with head bumps and 1,000 purrs. Meet our Heart of the Rockies Radio News pet of the week, Sheila! Sheila is a 7-month-old Australian cattle dog mix. She was transferred in from New Mexico after initially being found under an abandoned house. Labor of Love Project , a rescue organization in New Mexico, put the call out to see if anyone could help as Sheila was put on the euthanasia list at her current animal control facility due to severe overcrowding. At the time we had space for Sheila (and others transferred in) and were incredibly grateful......

Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS) is thrilled to announce that its 8th Annual Feline & Fido Photo Contest & Calendar will be returning this year, from Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Nov. 3. Anyone can enter their photos at www.gogophotocontest.com/avhs. It is $5 per photo submission and $1 to vote (with a $5 minimum). Once a person has entered their pet’s photo, they can share the contest with family and friends to garner more votes.
