Puppy Love

Puppy Love

The 2024 Super Bowl that went into overtime was an exciting game. However, the 2024 Puppy Bowl was equally exciting and definitely the cutest competition in sports.

Warner Bros. Discovery and Best Friends Animal Society partnered to “stage” the event in order to ”spotlight” pet adoption.

This year, the 20th Puppy Bowl broke records with 132 adoptable pets from 73 shelters across 36 states competing to win the Lombarky Trophy.

Team Ruff squeaked past Team Fluff with a final score of 72 to 69, with Team Ruff’s Moosh being declared MVP (Most Valuable Puppy).

Truly heartwarming was Mr. Bean, a papillon mix, hopping down the field on his hind legs. Born without front legs and only able to crawl on his belly, Mr. Bean ended up at South Florida’s Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary where he found love and learned to walk. He also found his forever home.

Seven adorable puppies from two different litters arrived at AVHS February 7, in hopes of finding their forever homes. Transferred in from the Humane Society of Pikes Peak in Pueblo, they wiggled into the hearts of staff and volunteers. It was Puppy Love!

The two month old “David Bowie” litter (some pictured here) of Mickey, Ziggy, Genie, Major, and Bowie are pit bull terrier mixes and 11 week old Laverne and Shirley are chihuahua mixes. Their antics and energy can make anyone laugh.  All 7 are great with people and just want to play, cuddle, and love. Four of these sweethearts have already found their forever homes!

Puppies like these are always Tail-Waggin’ news. Pets finding forever homes is the aim of AVHS. (719) 395-2737, ark-valley.org.
