You may first be wandering…what is Giving Tuesday? According to their website, Giving Tuesday is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.

When Ark-Valley Humane Society found out about #givingtuesday, we wanted to be involved! So what does that mean for you? We want YOU to get involved! Donations are always greatly appreciated and accepted but #givingtuesday is an opportunity to take it one step further! Are you in school? Host a bake sale or fundraiser to raise donations for AVHS! Bake dog or cat treats for our current shelter residents! Get together with a group of your friends and make some DIY dog and cat toys! ADOPT! What better way to give than to open your home to a new pet?

There are TONS of ways for your give on this #givingtuesday and we invite you to give of your time, your donations, anything really-at Ark-Valley Humane Society! For more information, check out the website here!
