We are currently hiring for:

Animal Care Technician

Animal Care Technicians (ACT) are a critical piece to Ark-Valley Humane Society’s mission; the primary function of the ACT is to provide care for the animals and adoption counseling for potential adopters.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

Cleaning kennels, cages & animal housing Administering medications & treatments

Grooming, inc. bathing, nail trimming & ear cleaning

Adoption counseling

Inputting & managing animal information in animal database

Enrichment of the animals through exercising, training & socialization

Requirements:

Preform at a high-level in a fast paced environment

Able to lift 25lbs

Great multi-tasking skills

Independent & self-motivated

Strong work ethic & team oriented spirit

Attention to detail

Excellent time management

Knowledge of MS Office

Good organizational skills

Polite & professionalism

Bilingual a plus

Compensation:

$9.50-$10.50/Hour DOE

Work hours are generally between 8:00am and 6:00pm, with this position you will be required to work weekends.

Position Description:

Veterinary Technicians promote the health, well being & general care of animals through maintaining daily medical treatment, providing a safe / sanitary facility & insuring proper care & humane handling of all animals. General duties include but are not limited to: General tasks could include: Observing animal patients for changes in behavior, Preparing animals for exams or surgery, Giving animals nursing care or first aid, Collecting and test lab samples, Giving medications, shots, or treatments and Collecting and maintaining animal records.
