New Feline Adoption Pricing: Felines have often gotten the short end of the stick and are generally viewed as having less value in our society than dogs but we're trying to change that. Starting July 1st, to help turn the tide and offset increasing costs associated with the care and sterilization of cats, we will increase the adoption fees for adult cats (>8 months of age) to $50 and kittens to $75. Before you get excited consider this; every feline now comes micro-chipped and will include a colorful new Lupine "Break Away" cat collar with identification tags! A-a-a-n-n-d, they will also be eligible to receive 30 days of free pet health insurance...
It's the Purr-fect time to adopt one of these fine-looking felines...

Feline Value and T.N.R.: We're bracing for kitten season and have already had several cats run through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Feral Cat program this year. If you believe, as we do, that feral cats do not deserve to die, simply because they are unowned, we need your help! The success of our TNR Program depends on community support to trap (we loan them for no cost!), transport (to the vet for testing, sterilization, vaccination and ear-tipping) and release (back to their place of origin) feral cats in the community to control the spread of common feline diseases like FIV and Feline Leukemia and manage their populations.
Feral cat with ear-tipped...
We are still in desperate need of placement for healthy feral cats that are unwanted in the locations they are found. While relocation is not always the best option for feral cats, sitting in a shelter kennel or death is much worse.
Please contact the shelter at 395-2737 if you need more information or wish to offer a safe haven for a feral cat or two.

Pocket Pets for Adoption: We don't often get the tinier variety of pet but we happen to have several young Dwarf Syrian Hamsters available for adoption! Unfortunately, they don't qualify for the pet insurance and can't be micro-chipped but make great starter pets for teaching young children responsibility while caring for a tiny, living being. Stop by the shelter today!
